Having my birthday in lockdown

 My birthday was during Lockdown! I turned 10 years old. We were in Covid 19 level 4. 
In the morning I woke up really early but I was not allowed to open my presents until my brothers woke up. My Mum, Dad and I all got up and had a spa for about half an hour then we got out and Oscar was already awake. I went into my room and then Oscar went into the lounge to and did a surprise for me. Well he was doing that I went to find Bessie. Then I went to wake Harry up so then we could do my presents. He really didn't want to get up but he did. I walked into the lounge and Oscar had blown up lots of balloons for me. Next we sat down and Oscar had got all of my presents wrapped up in his blanket. The first present I opened up was jodhpurs, I got three pairs. The next present was some togs. I also got a horse riding jacket, riding t-shirt and riding gloves. I also got some books about horses and I got a waffle maker. For breakfast that morning we had waffles with cream maple syrup and berries. They were really nice. After that I went onto my google meet and my class sung me happy birthday but you could hardly understand it. I left early because my cousins had organized a google meet with the whole family. My cousin had made a cake and they had everything that a normal party would have even thought it was only a video party. Next my brothers had made a treasure hunt for me. My first clue was where do we cut wood. I guessed it would be the wood cutter and it was. I found the next clue. It was who is it that gets fet 10 times a day. I guessed Puss Puss. So I went to the cat biscuits and I found the next clue. It was splash splash. I went to the pool and the clue was sitting on a mini boogie board but before I could get to it Oscar had pushed the boogie board into the middle of the pool. I used my foot to pull it in. the next clue was where did Harry have to go a couple nights ago because Oscar was to scared. I guessed the mailbox. In the mailbox I had another clue. It said where can the neighbours see mum. so i went outside mums window and I saw harry looking in the bush s I knew it was there. I kept looking low and then I looked up and there was a box of roses. Every clue came with a flake bar. I went inside and mum had packed some food to go down to the Waipaoa river mouth. When we were driving we came to a big puddle. Harry and Oscar said that it would be fine to drive through. Oscar wanted to drive through so he did. And he also got us stuck. Dad tried getting us out but he couldn't. So we ended up eating our food where we got stuck. the food was really nice but I didn't really like the icing on the cupcakes.When we finished eating dad went back on the 1.10 motorbike that harry had drove down. Dad we back to get his you tell us out. When he was gone I got really bored so I found some bamboo and I got a knife out of the statute and also a screwdriver and I try to make a flute full stop it did not sound good they would just sounded like me blowing through even when I put my fingers on the holes. when Dad got here he has a chain and he tied it to both the utes and then he drove out the first time we tried the chain came off and then the second time we got it out. When we got the ute up mum still wanted to go to the rivermouth so we did.we were driving to the rivermouth and we're almost there and we saw some cows. the cows in a paddock and that paddock had a lot to gate and that was the way that we got to the River mouth.we just had to climb over the fence and walk the rest of the wayfull stop when we were walking Oscar and Mum had a race to see you could run the fastest I ran a little bit and then I stood there and they had both around to me and try and be the first one to touch my hand off good just won. when we got to the rivermouth we all stood in a circle and we were all calling busy my dog to try and see who she would go to that she just keep going to Mum cause Mum's her favourite. then we thought that we should all turn around and just run all in different directions and see what she would do I think that she felt we will just going to leave and never come back and she chased mum mum just keep running know then she chased Dad then we all came in a bit and started calling Bessie again. Oscar started calling first so she went to Oscar when she was almost there Harry started calling her so she ran to Harry Then Dad started calling her and she ran to dad. Oscar had found a pinecone and I found a stick and we were playing cricket with them. I got the stick and made a mark in the sand with the end of it and I asked dad what animal it was he said it was a STICK bug. Then I went back over to everyone and mum had written HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLA. on the sand. Then we went home. When we got home me and my brothers did a triple on the 1.10 to go down to the shed and get the 50. Me and Harry doubled to the ditch and did some jumps. I went back before the boys and me and Dad went to lite the fire. Oscar came to help me and dad. We were going to do it in the paddock but then we just did it in the brazier. We waited for the fire to get better so we could put the sausages on. I had the good seat and Bessie had her seat. Mum was late because she had a meeting. I said I wanted to cook the sausages and I dropped the same sausage three times, then I got sick of the cooking so Harry did it. we had sausages and bread and I had 1. After that we had smores. They were so nice and I had to make my mum 2 and my dad 1. After that we went back to the house and played the chocolate game. Dad had really bad luck. Then we got the cake but we didn't eat any. After that we watched a movie and then went to bed. I had a really great day.

Our Lockdown Maths- hope it's correct

 It is Lockdown at the moment and we did this maths since we don't have our booklets or our prime math at our houses. Everyday we get a maths slide that we need to fill in. Hope i got them correct.

The Museum

On 11th of August our class went to the Tairawhiti Museum. The lesson was about Hui and our production. They also taught us lots about the instruments and the different types of instruments. We did a little test. We got to go in buddies or in singles. I went in a buddy with Amelia. We got 4/6 because we got one of them mixed up. What we did was they played the music from the instrument then I we would have to try and guess which instrument it comes from. We also made Maori instruments which were called Puririhua. We got to bring them back to school. at the end we got freetime and we had to go with buddys I went with Amelia and we went in all the rooms and there was a boat. Then we saw Molly and she didn't want to go down to the boat with her Buddy so she came with Amelia and I. Then we went into in another room and watched a documentary. Then the bus and we went back to school.

How to make a Puririhua

1. Cut some wood into a surfboard shape

2. Find some twine.

3. Put a hole in the top of your wood, wide enough that you can fit your twine in.

4. Put the twine through the hole

5. Put a knot a bit above the wood

6. Put a loop that can fit your fingers in.

7. Decorate your Puririhua however you like.
