Maori Language week

I was maori week this week so we made this. We had to say to each other how are you in maori, We also needed to answer our friends.

The Museum

On 11th of August our class went to the Tairawhiti Museum. The lesson was about Hui and our production. They also taught us lots about the instruments and the different types of instruments. We did a little test. We got to go in buddies or in singles. I went in a buddy with Amelia. We got 4/6 because we got one of them mixed up. What we did was they played the music from the instrument then I we would have to try and guess which instrument it comes from. We also made Maori instruments which were called Puririhua. We got to bring them back to school. at the end we got freetime and we had to go with buddys I went with Amelia and we went in all the rooms and there was a boat. Then we saw Molly and she didn't want to go down to the boat with her Buddy so she came with Amelia and I. Then we went into in another room and watched a documentary. Then the bus and we went back to school.

How to make a Puririhua

1. Cut some wood into a surfboard shape

2. Find some twine.

3. Put a hole in the top of your wood, wide enough that you can fit your twine in.

4. Put the twine through the hole

5. Put a knot a bit above the wood

6. Put a loop that can fit your fingers in.

7. Decorate your Puririhua however you like.
